Exchange Server 2003 resending email
Hi all ... I have inherited an exchange server 2003 environment where emails are being resent to the AD users. As far as that goes, it probably resends them to external users too.I have checked the event logs. Restarted SMTP and Attendant services, but no avail. I did recently set up IMF because they were getting a lot of spam. The server is running sp2.Bill

Enable message trackingand track the messages. That should give you a very clear picture of what's going on and why. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/246856 Otherwise, I'd expect you've run ExBPA? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/bb288481.aspx

Hi all, I thought I would respond with the resolution: The reason why the server was resend email was due to the POP3 connector also running. So essentially, the Exchange server would receive email, then it would forward them to the POP connector and ultimately resent the emails to the same users as they were in the POP3 Connection Manager - duh!! So by stopping the service to the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes, this stopped the reoccurring emails. The weird thing is the service would only resend email that was still in the root of the inbox as opposed to inbox\subfolder. Any other comments would be appreciated. I am an exchange newbie. Thanks
