Exchange Server 2003 Authentication
Dear All Honestly, I posted my case in many forums with no clear reply hoping that here i can end up with a clear one Am running Exchange server 2003 in windows 2000 server, it is also a domain controller, the domain to where this exchange belongs is part of a forest with many domains and sites all over the world. For some reason the Active Directory Database at the Domain Controller where the Exchange resides is corrupted and the authentication failed for users and users in this domain are prompted for username and password upon opening outlook. Now this might be normal until we fix the Active Directory Problem but my main concern why users in totally different domain and sites are prompted for the username and password of the corrupted Domain controller upon opening their outlook taking into consideration thateach exchange server is in different Administrative Group and the Directory Access is configured for local DC and GC YOUR HELP IS EXPLAINING THIS IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED Regards

Guessing wildly: Are they using the same public folder servers maybe? For free-busy information perhaps?

The public folder are all created at one location and replicated to others and among with we have those two servers but might this be the cause!!whats the problem in having the same public folder server?

If the public folder is in the corrupt domain, wouldn't the Outlook client try to authenticate against that domain once the user log in to his/her mailbox.?

i run the exbpa but with no severe output and no chnages has recently been done Ok ,honestly i was looking to find a logical clrear explanation of what was going on but that might be that much direct and is not straight forward Anyway,i solved that problem by Demoting the corrupted DC where Exchange resides, not recommended but that's the only available option, one more thing that the trust relation ship between this child domain, where exchange resides, and the parent domain My problem is solved but i will try to understand whatmight be the cause of this inter-server authentication rerquest Regards
