Exchange Server 2003 Active/Passive and reconfiguring teamed network interface.
Hi!We have a 2 nodeExchange Server 2003 Active passive cluster with storage on iSCSI luns. The Network Interface serving iSCSI traffic is a teamed virtual interface. The problem at hand is that teaming iSCSI interface is not supported by eiter the storage vendor or by MS.We need to break the teaming but i have a hard time finding good information about the procedure that we should adapt.I was thinking something in line with:1. Move all resources to Node A2. Stop the cluster service on Node B and stop all exchange services.3. Uninstall teamed interface.4. Configure one of the NICs from the team with the same IP that was used for the teamed interface.5. Stop Node A (Downtime begins)6. Start Exchange Services and Cluster Service (will the cluster service find the new network interface)7. Bring any offline resources online manually8. Test9. Repeat from 3 for Node BAny input is welcomeBest RegardsHansHT

I dont see any problems with the procedure you have described. Teaming for iSCSI is handled by Windows more than Exchange. I presume you have teamed interfaces on both the nodes. If that is the case then you dont really need to stop the services. This is what the cluster is meant for. What you need to make sure is the information store consistency during the entire operation. I would recommend having an offline flat copy created of information stores as well though this is a time consuming task. Please correct me if I have missunderstood anything.M-Milind Naphade

Please contact vendor of NICs at first, each vendor may handle it differently, they would have some valuable advice for such process I dont see problems in your procedure either, additionally, please dont do the task through RDP
