Exchange Server 2003 - Rebuild on same hardware after hard drive size upgrade
I have a situation where I will be reinstalling Exchange server onto the same server, but with a catch. Server now has single 36G drive for OS and single 73G drive for apps/exchange. Server is part of a 4 or 5 server network environment with all servers running 2003. Want to rebuild and rename the server from Server_OldName to Server_NewName while at the same time replacing the single 36 and 73 drives with (3)144G drives in a raid5 using ~40G for C: partition and the rest for D: with Exchange restoring onto the D: Is there someone that has done this before that can show me the clear path? The computer will join the domain and is currently nota DC. I know best practices say not to make it a DC but should I risk the performance hit to have a smoother connection with AD? Please any assistance would be helpful
