Hi, This is related to Exchange server, I need these answers, pls help me out of this as soon as possible... 1) what is mail information store? 2) what is .edb & .stm file? 3) what is a recovery group ? 4) what is a pubic folder? 5) Do we have .stm file in exchange 2007? Regards Thousif Ruman

Information store is the service that runs to handle your Database functions edb is file extension for your Exchange databases. In 200x there was an stm database file in addition to the edb where certain conversion had been done to content. Recovery Storage group allows you to restore a database to it (unmounted) and allows to do restore functions with tools. Public folder is where you can provide users access to a shared set of folder through outlook. Additionally these hold system folders needed by Exchange but they are unaccessible by end users. No, there is no stm file in 07 or 2010. content conversion is done on demand.Chris Morgan
