Exchange SMTP address for external mail CDO
Hi, First off I hope this is in the right forum; sorry if it isn't. I'm using CDO in Excel to send e-mails out automatically. I am using the smtp address exchangeserver.domain.local; which work brilliantly for internal mail; but I need to send mail to 1 external address. Is it possible to telltheSMTP address for external mail? It is Exchange 2003, default setup I would assume. Email is based on me@domain.com. If not how would I go about finding the SMTP address for external mail? Secondly currently I have I'm not using an Outlook.exchange mailbox; the e-mails are sent directly from the code. Would having a mailbox help? Any help greatly appreciated. Tim

What you'll need to do is either find a way to provide authentication when sending the mail, or you'll need to permit the IP of your machine to relay mail in Exchange. Look at the properties of the SMTP Virtual Server and the Relay settings.
