Exchange Resource forest to account forest
I know it is possible to create a exchange resource forest to consolidate multiple exchange organizations into one exchange resource forest and keep multiple accounts forest. Would it also be possible to use this same exchange resource forest as the main account forest down the road. Could you later migrate servers and workstatins from accounts forest into the exchange resource forest and use that as your one and only accounts\exchange forest?

Yes. Resource-forest mailboxes are essentially what are called "linked mailboxes" in 2007 or later. So if you moved other resources to this forest, you'd just "convert" the linked mailboxes to regular ones at that time. Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!

I know I marked this answered but a quick follow up now that I am testing. I see when I create a linked mailbox it creates a disabled user account. So if we wanted to convert the resource forest into our only acccounts forest would this disabled account become the logon account for users on the domain and would also act as the logon account for the mailbox? Do you know of any documentation on the conversion process?
