Exchange Relay
Hi - the company that I work at have bought some IPAD's. The company network is a Windows 2003 server controlled network with Exchange 2003. I wanted to use email on the IPADs but the SMTP port 25 is blocked and can't be unblocked. When I try to connect to Exchange I get an error that the account cannot be verified. My question is: Is it possible to point the IPADs to a server using SMTP and IMAP that would in turn redirect the emails to the exchange server. This would allow me to use port 25 internal and pass the email to exchange. Thanks for reading.

Hiya, Have you considered using Exchange Activesync with the iPad to syncronsise mail, contacts and calendars (or just a subset of those?). To be honestr it will give you the best experience for iPad mail and only requires HTTPS connectivity to your Exchange 2003 Front-End server. Yes as Steve mentioned Active sync is Best and it will work great in your scenario. you can use a SMTP server and forward the mail to your server , again that would be only from your IPAD . ( The same ip ) lots of configuration on your server.( you may not get port 25 if you create additional SMTP virtual server as it is being used_)
