Exchange Recipient Policies Taking a long time to update to users and mail-anable public folders
Hi all,Background topology:2 x AD Sites (Location1 and Location2), 1 Exchange Server on each site. Location1 contains 2 DCs both acting as GCs and location2 has a single DC also a GC server. All DCs replicate with eachother and using replmon all replication is successful. In exchange I am using the default recipient policy for smtp alliases. The alliases can take up to an hour to reflect in AD even if I force the RUS. With increased logging set on location1 server there are no suggestions that the RUS is not functioning correctly. There are 2 RUS policies setup, the default enterprise one which has location1 DC and Server and an additional one which has location2 and Server. Now, we did have an issue with creating mail-enabled public folders and found a technet article that suggested doing another domain-prep on the server. Not sure if the problem was occurent before this but though it best to mention it.Can anyone help with the next step of diagnostics? Also noticed that when I create new users or groups it takes the same amount of time for changes to be reflected to the GAL.

Hi, Regarding the first issue, I suggest you refer to following KB article to troubleshoot the RUS issue: How to troubleshoot the Recipient Update Service by using the Application log in Exchange 2000 Server or in Exchange Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822794/en-us For the second issue, please ensure the issue still persists when the Outlook connects to Server through Online Mode. I would like to explain that it is normal that we encountered delay when update the Offline Address Book. Mike
