Exchange Migration
Hi Guys i currently has one root forest with a child domain. example abc.com & xyz.abc.com. i have only one exchange 2003 server in the root domain that host all mails for the root doamin and child domain. i have no exchange server in the child domain. now i want to migrate to exchange 2010 or 2013. will it support the above architecture or i should have an exchange server for each domain. the two sites is interconnected with a wireless link of 20mb and in Active directory site & Services, all server are in the default sites. i did not create a new site for the child domain. thanks to send me a link for the procedures for migration taking into consideration that i will keep the child domain regards jeff

Hi You cannot migrate directly to 2013 so you will have to go to 2010. As you only have a single server the procedure will be same as if you only had a single domain. See here for the steps: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/exdeploy2010/default.aspx Cheers, Steve

No, you can't migrate from exchange 2003 to 2013. You can't even install exchange 2013 in exchange 2003 environment. Migrate to Exchange 2010. Wait for the release of SP3 for exchange 2010, once its released you can migrate from exchange 2010 SP3 to 2013. Post the link of those software which says you can migrate from 2003 to 2013. see this link http://www.priasoft.com/products-exchange-migration.aspx That would maybe work cross forest but certainly not within the same forest. Steve

NO, you can't migrate from exchange 2010 sp2 to exchange 2013. No matter if it's a cross forest scenario. You will have to wait for SP3 for exchange 2010Gulab Prasad, gulab@exchangeranger.com My Blog | Z-Hire Employee Provisioning App
