Exchange Management Shell stopped working

I am in the process of upgrading from 2007 and 2013 and things have gone from bad to worse. Any help is greatly apprecuiated!! When I open Exchange Management Shell I get this:

Hi,

Have you checked, if all the required services are running at the exchange server?

I got it working by enabling Anonymous Authentication on the Exchange Back End website
