Hi, Please try to check event log and then post the detail error information here for further troubleshooting. Besides, Please make sure that computer which has EMC installed can retrieve AD data. You can try to install ADUC tool. Windows Server 2003 Administration Tools Pack http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=c16ae515-c8f4-47ef-a1e4-a8dcbacff8e3&displaylang=en BTW, what is the OS of that computer. Check your Active Directory Sites and Services and see if sites and subnets have been defined. If so, make sure that all the subnets are properly associated with Active Directory sites. Further, make sure that the subnet on which the workstation is located is also defined and associated with the correct site. That is just a wild guess, but Exchange 2007 is pretty sensitive to Active Directory connectivity. Jim McBee - Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com

Hi, We need to ensure that you have the correct version for Exchange Management Console Tools installed. If Exchange Server is with SP1 patched, then we need to download and install E2K7SP1EN32.exe. Since theres Exchange Management Shell in the tools, then we can use cmdlt to create mailbox to see if it is a pure AD connection issue. Please run create-mailbox with verbose debug(create-mailbox verbose debug) thus we can have detail process steps output during the action. If we can perform mailbox task via EMS, then please try to re-install Exchange Management Tools. Note: Please refer to the document listing below to check if you have met the system requirements and then install Exchange Management Tools. Besides, please run ExBPA to have a health scan and then post the report here. Jim, Your suggestion might be something in this situation. I'm looking to see if there is a site-link configured for the two sites in question. So, the question is, would it make a difference if there was no site-link between the site my laptop is in and the site the Exchange servers are in? If that would cause a problem, then that might be what's going on. I don't think it has anything to do with the hardware I'm using, and I have the same slowness and time out when using powershell as well. I will be checking with our AD team to see what things are configured like. Thanks for the suggestion, I will report back on this as soon as I find out the details! Andrew
