Exchange Enterprise CAL installation
We just renewed our SA agreement- and as part of that renewal, we added one license of Exchange standard (for a second office)and purchased Exchange Enterprise CAL upgrades for all users. I have called the License install number (866-230-0560) to find out how to install the CALs. After being sent around the world a couple of times, i still don't have an answer. I have lots of microsoft phone numbers, but no answer. So i am asking:How do I install/activate the Exchange Enterprise CALs for my users. We want to use MRM with custom managed folders. The product key that i received for our exchange license is the same one that i have had. So are the CALs entered via a different product key? Or is there something i am missing? There is zero info on how these CALs get deployed that i can find on any microsoft site. The CALs show up in our Volume license agreement as Enterprise CALs, I have paid for them. How do i install/activate them? All i want is a phone number that can give me an answer. The numbers that my Vendor gave me just send me into infinate phone loops and transfers burning up electrons as i circle the earth. Why is this so hard?

Exchange CALs are honor system. unlike Exchange installation versions which use different product keys. Mike Crowley A+, Network+, Security+, MCT, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP: Enterprise Administrator / Messaging Administrator

OK, i feel really stupid. But there should have been someone at the various MS numbers that i called who could have told me that. Or a letter could have been sent as part of my license agreement. I understand that they don't want to publicize that since it would be abused but for petes sake. I guess that i will start my config of MRM now. Thanks.

Basically, Exchange 2007 will allow us to turn on the additional features, all that we have to do is to make sure we have purchased at enterprise CAL for each mailbox You do not install CALs. It will track what you've paid for
