Exchange Email Address Changes in IOS from Accepted domain to Corporate domain

Hello all we have been facing some odd issue lately in our messaging environment.

for example when you use username@acceptedDomain.com email on an iPhone and iOS devices. Minutes after setting up the account the email address gets changed to username@RegularCorporateDomain.com. After it does this, any mail replies you send put another copy in the users inbox.

past couple of months this has been happening a lot.

Can anyone know what might be the issue.

We tried the workaround from this article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3012580 and the users says it worked and they no longer have the issue. But i wana know if anyone else is having the same issue and what do you guys think of a permanent resolution. is it an exchange/Microsoft issue or IOS issue
