Exchange Domain container problem
I was having a problem with exchange, so I ran a health check using the Best Practices Analyzer. After running the tool it uncovered what appears to be a major issue. Here is the error message that it generated: "Exchange Domain container problem" “Active Directory domain 'USA' appears to be prepared for Exchange but the 'Microsoft Exchange System Objects' container has either been moved or renamed. Containers found: CN=Microsoft Exchange System Objects,CN=LostAndFound,DC=usa,DC=company,DC=LCL” Do I simply move the container back? I don't see any duplicate...Are the objects safe in there until I figure out what to do or will ADautomatically delete the obejects after a certain period? Thanks,Jacen

Hi Jacen, Which version of Exchange server do you run? Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2007? Did someone move it to LostAndFound by accident? If you set the audit on the AD, you can find something. You can move it back to root container safely. Here is an update. I ran the exchange domain prep. That created a new Microsoft Exchange System Objects (MESO) container. However, the container is empty. The old MESO container in the lost and found has a bunch of child objects. I am very tempted to just move the child object back under the new MESO container. Regards, Jacen

Hi Jacen, I would suggest you backup the AD first, then move the child objects to new container. Ok, I moved the child objects into the newly created MESO container. There have been no negative side effects to for the past few days. Looks like everything is in order now!Jacen
