Yes, you should use the media that corresponds to the version of Exchange 2013 you were running before you lost the server, or a later version.

Hi ACTIX,

Before you recover the Exchange server, verify that the following prerequisites are met.

1. If Exchange is installed in a location other than the default location, you must use the /TargetDir switch to specify the location of the Exchange binary files.

2. The server on which recovery is being performed must be running the same operating system as the lost server. For example, you can't recover a server that was running Exchange 2013 and Windows Server 2008 R2 on a server running Windows Server 2012, or vice versa. Likewise, you cant recover a server that was running Exchange 2013 and Windows Server 2012 on a server running Windows Server 2012 R2, or vice versa.

3. The same Exchange version as the lost server.

Best regards,

Eric

-you needed to share the setup.log

-The issue with "File copied failed" comes when exchange can't find the file in the extract so extract again.
