Exchange Attachment Size problem

Good morning,

I have set our send and receive connectors to allow 20MB e-mail size, but I am still getting an error if any email is greater than about 7MB.  I get an Outlook error message that states "The file you are attaching is bigger than the server allows."  If I attach several smaller items, I get this on the last attachment that puts the email over the 7MB limit.

I get this message with Outlook 2013 connected to Exchange 2013 and also get the message with Outlook 2010 connected to Exchange 2007.  This infrastructure has been upgraded with almost each version of Exchange since 5.5.  I am guessing there is a legacy setting somewhere, but I am unable to find it.

Thanks for any help that can be provided,

Jeff

Got it working.  I had missed one little field!

The article that Sneff_Gabor posted should help you.  With each new version of Exchange, there are more and more places that message size limits are configured.  If you've got the connectors configured appropriately, my guess is your issue is either with a mailbox setting or the 'org' setting.

Use the Get-TransportConfig command, and look for 'MaxSendSize' and 'MaxReceiveSize' parameters
