Exchange Adding Backslash into AD DN?
Hi everyone, For some reason when I create a user through EMC, it places a backslash after their name. (I.E. CN=Lastname\, FirstName Initial.) How do I go about fixing the issue since there is no backslash present in their AD account... Thanks!

The comma is a character that, if it wasn't "escaped", would act as a separator following the CN part of the distinguishedName. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Not sure what an AD "profile" is, but there's a comma in the CN property of the AD user object. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

For example, if the name of the mailbox is t,estuser, the distinguishedName attribute of the mailbox is CN=t\,estuser,CN=Users,DC=xx,DX=xx. Is it the case of yours? What is the version of your Exchange Server? If it is an Exchange 2007 server, then please apply the latest update and then check the issue again. Is there a , (comma) or space there? Sukh In his AD profile there is no comma or space after the last name. It's got nothing to do with the user profile if that is what your referring to. It's most likely something like the display name which will have the comma. This is reflected as mentioned in the DN, if you check via adsiedit or do a LDP dump it will show this. Sukh
