Exchange 2013 Server Search Platform Service Errors

Hi Forum Members,

I seem to be getting a lot of these errors and can't seem to resolve it. I have a 2 node DAG with five (5) mailbox databases. Content Index of just two databases are healthy on just a server while all others show failed on both servers. Please can someone help with resolving this as I believe this is the key to permanently solving this content index issues. Please see image of error below:

What cumulative update are you running?  If you're not at the latest, why not update it and see if it fixes the issue?

Hi,

This error is not related to Exchange, do you install or have you installed other products on your server?

The latest cumulative update contains lots of fixes that will fix this issue probably. So we strongly recommend the latest cumulative update first.

For troubleshooting Content Index State Failed, you can refer to another articles, threads or documents for reference.

Hi Lynn & Ed,

Thanks for your responses. I am presently on CU6. I have given this a thought i.e. installing the next or latest CU but wanted another opinion before going ahead with this.

No Lynn I have not installed any other application (apart from the already existing Backup Agent and AV which I uninstalled just to be sure it was not the cause).

Lynn you said this has nothing to do with Exchange. But I think it does since this is where Search Foundation errors or logs are read. Well I stand corrected if I am wrong.

I will upgrade to CU7 or CU8 and test again (not too sure if there are issues with CU9 since it just came out).

Thanks

Well, if you don't install CU9, you'll still be behind.

Thanks Ed you are a genius. CU9 solved this problem and all CIs are now healthy
