Exchange 2013 Edge Temp Files

Hi,

I seem to have a folder within my exchange that keeps growing, the folder is related to TemporaryStoragePath (Config <add key="TemporaryStoragePath" value=)

This folder was sitting in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\data\Queue\Unified Messaging

I have moved this folder to our D Drive as it has grown to 24GB. The files seem to be named with GUIDs (56ffb783-7fb1.....) and also have CtsB90645F8.tmp files.

Does anyone know if these files need to be kept or if they can be deleted, i would of thought that with them being temp files they should not be there for long.

Any help with be greatfull.

Thanks

Hi

I think the queue you are referring is the wrong path

C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\data\Queue\Unified Messaging

This should be the correct path for transport queue

C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\data\Queue

This queue is the transport queue data path

Just check if more emails are present in the queue

Or if you are referring this location ?

C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\UnifiedMessaging

Hi,

Sorry i meant C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\data\temp

This folder had another folder within it called UnifiedContent which is filling up with files.

Thanks

Hi ESPC,

Base on my experience, you can delete this temp files directly, however, before deleting, I recommend you can move them to another location or removable media first as a backup, it will help to avoid unpredictable results.

In addition, you can also try to upgrade the exchange to the latest CU9, and check if any helps.
