Exchange 2013 Domain Migration with Public Folder Support

We are planning a domain migration:

We will be migrating users from xxxx.com to yyyy.zzzzz.com. I am building a brand new domain, and am planning on transferring as little security and profile information from the old domain. I am looking to start fresh with the new domain, so I do not want legacy SID information, or as little of that as possible.

Our new domain will have Exchange 2013, the legacy domain has Exchange 2010.

First question: Is it possibe to move a exchange mailbox to a diffent domain without migrating any SID or other information from the legacy? I'm possibly looking at a third party tool to do this, and am currently looking at Code Two software, does anyone have any suggestions?

Second Question: While we are in the process of migrating users, we will have some users in the legacy domain, and some users in the new domain. What is the best way to allow access to the public folders in the legacy domain for the users in the new domain?

Last Question: With the new Exchange 2013 architecture, does ActiveSync allow for access to public folder mailboxes? If so how would you connect?

Hi

1. You can use the native move requests in Exchange to move mailboxes between forests, you don't need a 3rd party tool to do this bit: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee633491(v=exchg.150).aspx

2. Are you planning to migrate the public folders to 2013 - this would need a 3rd party tool.

3. No this is not currently possible natively.
