Exchange 2013: Event id 1309, Source ASP.NET 4.0.30319.0

I have these errors on two (identical) Exchange 2013 multi-role servers with CU2 installed. I have seen http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/de3a3c03-1abd-4db3-9629-716205270d08/event-id-1310-source-aspnet-40303190 but this seems to be another issue.

Hello,

Please check if your servers can ping each other.

Please check if the 444 port is opened.

I recommend you check if there is any error in iis log.

I recommend you use server health and performance to check your exchange server.

Please make sure whether you install MS13-061 security update.

And here is the article related to the error. Hope it helps.

Thank you for your reply. The servers can ping each other with FQDN and NetBIOS name. Port 444 is opened. The KB article you gave me is not applicable, it's not the same error message. Regarding IIS logs, which one do you suggest to check? There are many available on an Exchange-server.

Hello,

Sorry for delayed response.

I recommend you check the log document when the issue occurs.

Do you make sure you install MS13-061 security update?

Besides, I recommend you use the Get-ServerHealth cmdlet to retrieve health information related to the server you specify.

I have the event 1309 & 3005 errors in my logs on my cas boxes. What is happening to me is since we applied the MS13-061 security update on top of CU2, I now have to cycle iis on my cas servers every day to restore outlook connectivity.

Once I cycle IIS the even 1309 ASP.Net 4.0.30319.0 exception errors stop happening.

I have an open case with MS to get a fix as it appears that some app pool is being exhausted or something and it stops taking outlook connections...

September 17th, 2013 2:29pm

I still have these errors. Unfortunately nobody was able to help, not here in the partner forums and neither in the public forum: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/e2a7e131-d2bb-401d-a8f4-352eb6005bef/exchange-2013-cu2-aspnet-event-id-1309-mapiexceptionmailboxintransit-and

Do I really need to open a PSS call? I still have three other cases opened for Exchange 2013 CU2, the amount of bugs and the time it takes to troubleshoot is simply to much.

The fix for us was to uncheck Allow SSL Offloading on the cas servers under the outlook anywhere settings....

October 1st, 2013 2:45pm

This Didn't help me.

Exch1 + EXch2 all roles same site.

DB mounted on Exch1

When I Login from Exch2 CAS OWA URL . Owa logs me in and Logs me out .

Strange--

Same setup in diff region works

And here is the article related to the error. Hope it helps.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941386

That article refers to Windows Vista. I'm pretty certain we don't have Exchange installed on that....

Well all is working well regarding ECP and Owa but not really on backstage. This error is really boring and we can 't spend 2 or 3 Days to fix what we consider as a bug. I works with Exchange since MsMail and honestly this version is not finished.  We already spend two day to fix the ECP and OWA we cant spend more time and money with the MS support.  To be honest i don't known and i don't receive any explanation of this behavior from ms support.

today in the event viewer i still have this error (see picture) but it works.

Exchange 2013 what a fresh product!

April 30th, 2014 6:49am

problem has been solved with CU5! Well, at least in my environment...

Corruption in the ASP.NET cache can also cause 3005. Clearing the OWA .NET cache takes a few seconds. Worth a try. https://supertekboy.com/2015/06/25/exchange-2013-asp-net-event-id-1309-event-code-3005/
