Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010 Auto mapping stopped working
I just migrated our Exchange organization from 2007 to 2010 SP1 over the weekend. On the Friday before the move I had two mailboxes on the new 2010 server for testing, I gave one of the user's full access to the other's mailbox, and when I opened an Outlook 2010 client using that first user the other user's mailbox was added to the folder pane automatically (as expected). Here's my problem: I moved all the mailboxes over the weekend, and now this auto mapping feature no longer works. I've tried using different mailboxes, removing and re-adding the full access permissions to the mailboxes, and recreating Outlook profiles (on several different computers) but it still doesn't work. I've also confirmed the contents under the user object's msExchDelegateListLink property, and checked the event logs, but all appears to be normal. I've searched for a solution online but it appears that the only interest anyone has in this feature is how to disable it. Any suggestions?

For anyone that is interested, here’s what happened and how I fixed it: When I brought the 2010 server online I swapped the static IP address from the 2007 server (which was being decommissioned) to the 2010 server so that I wouldn’t have to reconfigure our internet facing security appliance to NAT to the new address. Using this method also prevented me from having to change DNS entries and possibly running into connectivity issues with end user devices. When I did this, IIS on the 2007 server was still bound to the old IP address, so all the websites on the to-be-decommissioned server ceased to function. While troubleshooting I found that the clients were still trying to connect to the 2007 server for Autodiscover services, and never even tried to use the 2010 server once that initial request failed. To correct the issue I used the following command in the Exchange Management Shell to “remove” the 2007 server as an available server for Autodiscover in the site: Set-ClientAccessServer -Identity DECOMED2K7SERVER -AutoDiscoverSiteScope “” After I ran the command I closed my Outlook client, opened it up and the auto mapped mailboxes popped right up. Running the “Test E-mail Autoconfiguration” function in Outlook showed that the client was now using the correct server for Autodiscover.
