Exchange 2010 not 13 and outlook connection issue

We have 2 Exchange servers in DAG w/o DAC in different sites and while creating a profile in Outlook client it is only able to see one or the other site. So I cannot have a profile for site P(rimary) and another for site S(econdary).

So, prior to moving the mailbox affected between MailboxDB it would only allow the Outlook client to connect to site S, after moving it now it works only for site P

OWA works fine but if I try to add one profile for user A pointing to mail1.domain.local and in the control panel > mail > mail setup > Profiles > Show Profiles I click on add, create a new profile > name it mail1 > choose manual setup > and  microsoft Exchange server > in server Settings I add mail1.domain.local click on check name and it maps the account to mail2.domain.local on a remote site.

I may have failed to explain this issue, if so please feel free to request more info.

I have a feeling the issue might not even be with Exchange but AD.

Thanks for any input.

Hi,

Based on your description, the server change automatically when you try to configure different Outlook profile.

Is it always changed to mail2.domain.local when you input mail1.domain.local?

Did this appear every time you create Outlook profile?

Please check if the server name you set is in the site where the active database resides.

Sorry for the delay, I have been placed on more pressing issues and will get back to this but I can tell you that it makes no difference having the active DB on one or another site. It does happen every time we create the profiles however sometimes it will only work on Site B but if we move the mailbox to a new DB (test DB) it then only works with the Site A... I will not be able to look into this soon as we use mostly OWA but I will have to get back to this matter.

Thanks,

Ozz.
