Exchange 2010 installation
Hi, I use Exchange Analyzer and eveything is ok no any issue, I can start to prepare to active directory to use exchange 2010 on the test lab. I am using now: Windows 2008 Domain controller Windows 2003 Domain Controller Exchange 2003 server. Windows 2008 is ready installed with everything is ready to use and to install Exchange 2010. Eveything is ready to use the first step: Is this the right FIRST step: • setup.com /PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions • setup.com /PrepareSchema • setup.com / PrepareAD (if I use preLegacyExchangePermissions I dony use this command) • setup.com / PrepareDomain Is this right or not or do I make a mistake or forgot I something. Or what are the correct commands to do that o. And Shoul I use this command on each domain controller. And also the other qeustion is if I run that command how can can I verify on schema or on Active directory prepare is everything all right how can I see that. Regards, deliyurek007

Hi, The command are good! But It's recommanded that you execute the - Setup.com /prepareAD on the site that hold the schema master role - If you have one domain you can execute setup.com /prepareDomain Using this two commands on one domain controller that holds the schema master role is recommanded. No need to execute those command on all domain controller! Don't forget that there the famous Active directory replication. Hope that helps you !! Best Regards Don't forget to mark it as answer if it helps

For a single domain you don't have to run the prep commands - just run setup.exe and follow the prompts. The installation tool will prep the domain for you. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.
