Exchange 2010 install crashed
While installing Exchange 2010 it crashed during the Client Access Role portion of the install. I stopped working on that project for other issues and when I returned to the project my Systems admin had repurposed the server. Now I have portions of the initial Exchange 2010 server in my AD and unable to move forward with the 2010 migration. The first server's name was AUSTIN the new server is ROME I need to remove the first server from AD. Any help would be most appreciated. This is the current error I receive dunning installation: ---------------------------------------------------- Summary: 11 item(s). 8 succeeded, 1 failed. Hi First option Reinstall a server with name AUSTIN and install Exchange using setup.com /recoverserver Then uninstall it from control panel That's the supported and correct way to go If that doesn't work you can delete it with adsiedit, but be aware of it's unsupported and you need to be sure you do it right, or else you will have BIG problems.. I am uninstalling the new server ROME now, I will rename this server Austin, reinstall using the "setup.com /recoverserver" command and uninstall to remove it from active directory. I will let you know the outcome if you’re interested. Many thanks, -=j
