Exchange 2010 create new primary smtp address, remove old
Hi there. I'm completely stuck with an Exchange 2010 installation. There is an old database from a previous installation to which the primary smtp address is assigned. I'd like to remove that database but cannot because of that primary smtp address (and other mailboxes connected). Also I cannot move the primary smtp address to another database - the original server does not exist any more and thus the mailbox can't be opened any more. Any idea how I might be able to resolve this? A complete removal of Exchange is an option too as there are only few mailboxes until now (and receiving e-mails insn't working anyway - I guess cause they are all send to the wrong database). But I have to be sure that all databases are gone after that. Is there a way to do that? Thanks

Hi, If you delete all mailboxes that is hosted in the missing database you should be able to remove that database completely (just delete the mailboxes, not the user accounts). Leif

Thank you Leif. It worked after I deleted folder replicas too. I have been able to remove Exchange. Thanks again.
