Exchange 2010 calander issue
I'm directing this question as an Exchange issue because I have idenitfied the problem as occuring when using Web Exchange and Outlook. The probem is: A user will create and appointment in the calander and invite the group. Some users (not all) will except the invitation and the date will be one day off in there calander. This is true both in Web and regular Outlook. The problem is random and sometimes it will only be off 1 hour. This is why I believe the issue is in Exchange itself. We upgraded to Exchange 2010 about 2 year ago and prior to the upgrade with Exchange 2003 we never had an issue like this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim

What do you mean by except the invitation? I'm not sure I understand what kind of exception they're making. And what do you mean by "there calendar", do you mean it's somewhere else? Calendar time differences always end up being workstation or server time, time zone and/or DST settings, or a missing DST patch. Seriously, for the more fifteen years I've been doing Exchange peer support, that always turns out to be the answer, even though a high percentage of the time the poster claims that everything is properly configured.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi, Thank for responding. Essentially what is happening is a user creates and appointment and then clicks the invite attendees (I suppose they could have just chosen meeting instead) those accepting the meeting are showing the time off by 1 complete day. They don't realize that the time is different until they miss the appointment. The ones I have been made aware of were 1 day in the future. For example the Meeting was for September 5th & 6th 8:00am-5pm on both days and for 3 of the attendees their calendar indicated September 6th & 7th 8:00am-5pm. I though the Exchange server was up to date on all SP's but discovered that it was not. It had SP1 and all the rollups. I installed SP2 yesterday and a rollup update hoping that will resolve the issue and only time will tell. Thats the gist of it, the meeting times are shifted 1 day. If you have any recommendations please advise. Thanks, Tim

Even after you fix all the problems, the calendar item can still be wrong and its owner will have to recreate it.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Ed, The appointment time is never off for the person who created the meeting only for some attendees. Also I now have been advised that the issue occurs only on appointments that span more than 1 day. Also, it appear that the problem can be re-created by creating a meeting that spans > than 1 day. Some attendees will find that the dates are in the future 1 day. I suppose maybe they should create 2 meeting invitations for both days. Thanks, Tim

Rich, That is not the issue at hand. Time zones are not a factor because everyone is literally in the same building, same network, and same time zone. A meeting scheduled for Aug 4th-5th 8:00am-5:00pm will show up on some attendees calendars as Aug 5th-6th 8:00am-5:00pm (meeting 8 hours for each day for total of 16 hours) 1 day shifted into the future. I wouldn't want to be the one of those attendees arriving 1 day late. This happens to attendees who use only Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 or XP computers so it eliminates bizarre phone issues that can sometimes screw up the calendar. All the normal settings on these pc's have been checked. Thanks, Tim

Thanks, Tim It's funny you mention this because I just got off the phone with a user who is having the exact same issue with multi day events shifting one day into the future. She is also running 2010 however we do not host our own exchange server. I don't know what the issue is but it seems random for certain people.
