Exchange 2010 Sp2 management tools problem
Hi, I had a computer with windows 7 and exchange management tools installed. All worked great. But I had reinstall this computer. So I installed win 7 pro with Sp1, installed RSAT Sp1 Admin tools, installed framework and IIS 6 compatibility. Great. Then I've tried to install Exchange 2010 Management Tools Sp2. First problem: when setup has checked feature to install additional features - setup complains that I do not have RSAT tools installed. So I gave up, removed this check box and installed management tools. There were no errors at all. And no, when I'm trying to start management shell I have nice error when it is trying to connect to exchange servers. For example: VERBOSE: Connecting to EX-02.bla.msft EX-02.bla.msft] Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : Access is denied. For mor e information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic. + CategoryInfo : OpenError: (System.Manageme....RemoteRunspace:RemoteRunspace) [], PSRemotingTransportExc eption + FullyQualifiedErrorId : PSSessionOpenFailed Failed to connect to an Exchange server in the current site. Enter the server FQDN where you want to connect.: How can I resolve this problem? Thanks.

Hi Rimvydas, this might happen when you have stored credentials for that server in the credential manager. Best Regards Timo

This is happening for my four exchange servers. I only pasted an excerpt from management shell window. EMC tries to connect to all four of my exchange servers and fails on everyone:/ If I try to open EMC on one of exchange servers using the same account I have no problems at all:( Only ones credentials I have saved for these servers are Remote desktop manager passwords but I think they are stored not in credential manager? Right? And another problem that installer complains that I do not have rsat tools installed when I have:/

Hello, Do you still use the same account which was successfully connected before? Yes, but I've tried few different accounts. All these accounts are in Organization management group. I can start EMS on exchange servers without any problems using these accounts, but if I start EMS from my local workstation - I have these access denied errors:(

Hello, Did you run the EMS as administrator? Thanks, Simon

I'm trying to run ems on windows 7 pro computer with uac enabled. The user I'm trying to use with ems is local administrator on my computer. I'm logged on with another user which is local admin too and which has no exchange admin rights. So before starting ems I select run as another user and use user which is in organization management group.

And one more update. I updated management tools to Sp2 on another workstation. And I've tried to connect to exchange servers using the same accounts. And I was able to do that without any problems. So I suspect that this problem is related to my computer:/

Another update:) Problem was even not on Exchange side despite of nice access denied errors. Problem was with ESET Smart Security... I added exclusions and everything started to work.
