Folks, I'm looking for some guidance re: the initial build out of our Exchange 2010 SP1 Lab environment. My company is new to Exchange, we're currently a Notes shop and we do not have any Exchange servers in production at this time. We just working thru the initial build out of our Lab environment. a) The following technote lists the minimum OS requirements for Exchange as Windows 2008 R2 SP1 x64 and is dated June 28, 2011 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719.aspx b) This technote has a list of prerequisite software installs for Exchange 2010 but was last updated in January 2011 before SP1 was released for Win2k8. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691354.aspx What I'm trying to determine is which of any of the prerequisite installs listed in (b) would be covered by installing Win2k8 SP1? Or if someone can point me to a more current version of the information listed in (b) that takes SP1 into account? Thanks...

Hello, you can install Exchange 2010 SP1 on Windows Server 2008 with SP2 (x64) and on Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM or SP1. When you install SP1 for Server 2008 R2 first you won't need to install the hotfixes listed in (b). Then you'll only have to install the necessary features as described in (b). Greetings, Toni
