Exchange 2010 SP2 MBX/HUB/CAS with DAG on 1 virtual server
LS, I have 2 virutal servers (VMware Vsphere 5). One in each datacenter. On the servers I want to install Exchange 2010 SP2 and install the following roles: MBX,HUB,CAS. The mailbox database I want to use with DAG. Is this supported to have those roles installed on 1 server in combination with DAG. Additional I don't use NLB for the CASARRAY (handeld by hardware loadbalancer) and have an other server for the MNS. Hope to hear. Peter

Hi Peter Yes this is a supported configuration for Exchange 2010 SP2 - using VMware HA in combination with a DAG was not officially supported pre-SP1. Cheers, Steve

Hi Peter747, in addition to Steve, you can verify your configuration and its support on Windows Server Catalog and the Support Policy Wizard, see here: http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/svvp.aspx?svvppage=svvpwizard.htm Gre, Christoph

Hi I have done same test on hyper-v. It is ok. I cant find MS official document about your question. I also search it from vmware web site. I just find that Exchange 2010 is supported Vsphere 5. You had better post your question to vm forum. They can offer professional support. Hello Terence Yu, no update at this moment. I suggest to go ahead with E2K10 Sp2 on vSphere 5. When infrastructure is installed I will check the performance and failover of E2K10 en vSphere. Also the Exchange stress test will be executed to see if iops can be delivered by the host. Regards, Peter
