Exchange 2010 SP1 -- 90% RAM -- CPU normal -- w3wp.exe Process
Recently I have noticed that Exchange 2010 HUB/CAS used memory is more than 90% and the exchange administration console is getting slow. After checking the processes in Task Manager I found lot of ( around 5 )processes called w3wp.exe using a lot of memory 90%. I think this is not normal. I'm using Exchange 2010 SP1 + GFI Mailessentails 2012 latest build on Windows 2008 R2 SP1. Please advice.

Please setup monitoring of additional counters to diagnose the problem. It is common for a process to consume a lot of cpu\memory temporarily. here are some sugesstions CAS - CPU, Memory, MSExchange RpcClientAccess\RPC Averaged Latency, MSExchange RpcClientAccess\RPC Requests HT CPU, Memory, Aggregate Queue Length, Active Mailbox Delivery Queue Length

Hi It is normal and it always happen to me. You can read this similar case. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/thread/a2bb3fe3-b72d-40ac-8214-f524643bc040/ AS far as I know, exchange 2010 sp3 fix one similar bug of sp2. You can update your system. W3wp.exe process consumes excessive CPU and memory resources on an Exchange Client Access server after you apply Update Rollup 5 version 2 for Exchange Server 2010 SP2. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2800133?wa=wsignin1.0 Terence Yu TechNet Community Support

Thanks a lot for your reply. But I belive it is not a normal behavior because the EMC is very slow. And the Memory usage is always 90% and above. I'm trying to collect some perfromance montoring information.
