Exchange 2010 Role Based Access Control Editor not launching in Internet Explorer.
Hello, I have an Exchange Server 2010 RTM with SP1 installed. If I open the EMC and go to Tools and double-click the RBAC utility, it opens IE8 but says the website cannot be displayed. I believe this is some sort of issue with IIS, but I can't see anything that looks wrong. I can open OWA and then access "Manage My Organization", but only if I go directly to OWA and sign in. I can also access RBAC via EMS. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Zone057, After you open the RBAC user editor, what's the URL in the IE? Seems like the error message "cannot be displayed" occured before you enter the account and password. If you open ECP web page directly, does it work? e.g. https://mail.contoso.com/ecp Please check whether the settings of OWA & ECP Virtual Directory are same or not. Server Configuration->Client Access If it still doesn't work, please run the EXBPA in the toolbox. You can also try to reset the OWA & ECP Virtual Directory: Server Configuration->Client Access->Actions->Reset Virtual Directory...->Select owa and ecp Frank Wang TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Thank you very much Frank, you nailed it on the head. There was an internal DNS issue so the addess for the internal server was not working. As soon as I entered the external DNS name, voila! Worked. Corrected DNS entry, put internal address back and it's working!! Thanks again!

Hi, i'm a bit of an exchange 2010 newbie. I have 2010 SP1 installed and have the same issue however it would seem that it is not a DNS issue as if I browse by IP address I get the same issue. When I double click RBAC from the toolbox it opens in IE with a certificate error of which when I click to proceed I am presented with "The website cannot display the page" I have worked through your post above and to reset the virtual directories as OWA & ECP present the same issue after proceeding the certificate error. BPA doesn't seem to show up any suggestions apart from self signed certificates found - albeit not as secure, I doubt its the root cause of the issue. Any light you can shed would be most appreciated! Chris.
