Exchange 2010 Recovery fails
Hello, I am setting up an Exchange 2010 server so that I can transfer our mailboxes and everything to it from Exchange 2007. I ran into a few problems after the install and not knowing how to fix them, exactly I thought I would start over by doing a format and reinstall of the OS and everything. Opps, I think I made the problem worse by doing that. Apparently, it still knows there was Exchange setup previously. Therefore, what I tried to do is a recovery, but during the Hub Transport configure server role it stops at 98% for a very long time and then fails. After that, I get the various errors below saying that I cannot do anything. Error from the recovery mode when the recover fails The following error was generated when “$error.Clear(); If ($exsSid –eq $null –or $exeSid –eq “”) { $exeSid = get-Exchange ServerGroupSID –DomainController $RoleDomainController } Start-setupservice –ServiceName MSExchangeADTopology –ServiceParameters $exsSid,$Role DomainController “was run: “Service ‘MSExchangeADTopology’ failed to reach status ‘Running on this server.”. Try to uninstall and start over from control panel “Some Controls aren’t valid. - Setup previously failed while performing the action “DisasterRecovery”. You can’t resume setup by performing the action “Uninstall”. Try to run recovery again and says “A setup failure previously occurred while installing the HubTransport role. Either run setup again for just this role, or remove the role using control panel”. Try to run recovery just for the Hub transport role “A setup failure previously occurred while installing the HubTransport role. Either run setup again for just this role, or remove the role using control panel”. Nothing works at this point I am not sure how to recover this.
