Exchange 2010 OOO not working
Hi all, we installed a new Ex2010 server at the start of the year. It works great, we're very happy with it. However the OOO doesn't work for our Outlook 2007 users. They get the dreaded "Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable". Outlook 2003 users are not affected and the OOO works fine for them. Also, OWA users can turn on and off the OOO assistant without problem. It only affects full Outlook 2007 users. I've been reading forum posts for days without success including this post http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchange2010/thread/1b9b50b5-6622-461d-80b6-a36b909403c1 where the internal and external URL's are listed. When I do that command on our server, both the InternalURL and ExternalURL come back as completely empty. I'm not sure if this is a problem or not. The fields are completely blank, but everything else looks as per the post above. Everything else works fine, perms in the EWS virt folder seem fine, users can access the Exchange webfolders fine (eg https://MAILSERVER.domain_name.local/EWS/Exchange.asmx comes up without any errors in a browser etc). Proxy settings make no difference. If you turn off all proxy settings on the 2007 clients, they still get the same error when trying to launch OOO from the tools menu in outlook. I'm running out of ideas. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi, OOO generally stucks because of certificates issues too. SSL certs may be specified incorrectly. Ensure that FQDN and Netbios names of the CAS servers is put as correct in the certificateRegards from www.windowsadmin.info

Hi Check the values by using: Get-ClientAccessServer –Identity <CAS Server Name> | fl *uri* Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -Identity "server\EWS (Default Web Site)" | fl *url* Verify so the url addresses / names are included in the certificate, they need to match Either include the names or change the name(s)Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

If you have installed .NET Framework 3.5 with SP1 and the .NET Framework 2.0 with SP2 on a CAS server, please review this KB Please increase the diagnostic logging level on following categories for MBX server, reproduce the issue, and then see if there’s any related event in the application log on the MBX server · MSexchangeMailboxAssistants\Service · MSexchangeMailboxAssistants\OOF Assistant · MSexchangeMailboxAssistants\OOF Library Please enable the troubleshooting logging on the problematic outlook clients, reproduce the issue, and then check the log files that end with “oof” in the %Temp% folder Resources: Diagnose Availability Service IssuesJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
