Exchange 2010 Management Console Freezes the server
I tried setting up a test Exchange 2010 system last week and ran into an issue with the management console. Every time I open up a user mailbox and try to click on any of the tabs the entire server completely locks up. I get no error messages and have to hard boot the server each time. Can I simply uninstal Exchange and reinstall, can I blow the server away and reinstall, or do I need to redo the whole domain? Can I uninstall the mangement tools and try to reinstall?

Please try to install management tools on another PC, see if the issue still persists (Procedure) Notes: In this way, we can confirm if exchange still run normally, whether the issue was caused by management tools itself or other programs on the exchange server Quote: “Can I simply uninstal Exchange and reinstall” Yes (Reference) Quote: “Can I uninstall the mangement tools and try to reinstall?” Yes, please also try to reinstall the management toolJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Please try to install management tools on another PC, see if the issue still persists (Procedure) Result: I tried installing the tools on the other server in the test domain with the same result. The first line of tabs when looking at a user appear fine. When clicking on the second or third row of tabs the whole server locks up.

I had the same problem and the solution did not work for me. I already reinstalled everything but Exchange console still freezes my OS, expecially when I opened up Organizaton Configuration -- > Hub Transport.

After a few rounds, it turned out to be ESX display setting. After I uninstalled the display card driver in VM Tool, everything worked fine since.
