Exchange 2010 Email Retention Policy

Hi Need some Help With a strange Retention Policy Issue.

Have Exchange server 2010 and had a user with a 50gb mailbox so I activated a retention Policy to Move All Emails That Have More than 10 dayz to an Archive Online who keep all the emails. Had tested previously with a test user and all was working good.

So my issues is that this user is able to permanent delete mails in the Archive Online but when he try to  Permanent delete Mails in his mailbox its says that He cant delete it cuz He dont have the rights.

Check the size of the "Recoverable Items" subtree and increase the RecoverableItemsQuota if needed.

Hi,

By default, a mailbox database is configured to retain deleted items for 14 days, and the recoverable items warning quota and recoverable items quota are set to 20 gigabytes (GB) and 30 GB respectively.

Please follow Vasil's suggestion to increase the RecoverableItemsQuota to test:

Set-Mailbox -Identity "April Stewart" -RecoverableItemsWarningQuota XGB -RecoverableItemsQuota XGB -UseDatabaseQuotaDefaults $false
