You can't just leave that Exchange 2010 server alone - you are going to have to remove it. The only supported way is via add/remove programs. Therefore the best option for you is to reset (NOT DELETE) the computer account, build a new machine with the same name, then install Exchange using the /recoverserver switch. Once installed you can then move those users and remove Exchange 2010 using add/remove programs. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Hi, Agree with Simon. You have to uninstall the exchange 2010 server instead of leaving it. please follow the steps in the link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876880.aspx And then, Uninstall the Exchange server. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee332361.aspxPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
