Exchange 2010 Can't send to External Domains
Good Evening everybody, I'm having a problem with Exchange server 2010 running on Windows Small Business Server 2011. I have everything configured as it should be (or so i think). I know the most common solution to this problem is to add a Send Connector under Hub Transport under Organization configuration. The problem is that I still can't send emails to external domains. I also have my "mydomain.com" accepted domain set to Internal Relay. Any thoughts?

Check the Firewall settings on the SBS 2011 server outbound rules. You can run the internet connection wizard in the SBS console to configure alle settings correctly. That can fix this issue. Are you using a smart host to send emails? For example the ISP smtp server or DNS relay? Some ISP's require authenication to relay emails with their SMTP hosts.

Just to clarify, I can receive email from external domains, i just cant send to them. I am not using a smart host, just sending through MX records. I do not have an edge server, just a hub transport server (default in SBS). I disabled the firewall completely, and tried running the exchange troubleshooting assistant. It's saying that port 25 on the remote servers did not respond. It is also saying that the ping is unsuccessful to the remote hosts, but when i open up command prompt and try to ping the servers, it works just fine.

Just called my ISP. turns out that they block port 25 outbound if you don't have a static ip address. stupid fidelity. thanks for the help, guys.
