Exchange 2010 CAS Query
Hey Our setup: Outlook clients > Cisco Load Balancer > Exchange 2010 CAS server (CAS1 part of Array1) > Exchange 2010 Mailbox server When an Outlook client connects to their mailbox, the MAPI connection is actually via the CAS array as you can see. Array1 has 10 CAS servers within it. Questions: 1. From the client PC, is there a direct cconnection to the CAS server, or the connection is to the Load Balancer which 'proxies' the connection to the CAS server? 2. How can I tell which CAS server a particular client is connected to?

1. A CAS array depends on load balancing from a hardware load balancer or Windows Network Load Balancing. CAS servers do no load balancing by default. 2. Get-LogonStatistics might help you. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124415.aspxEd Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi, Agree with Ed. You can use Windows NLB or Hardware NLB to load balance CAS servers. And you need a virtual IP to map CAS Array in both ways. Using Get-LogonStatistics command, you can find all clients connected to specific servers.
