Exchange 2010 Address Book User Details Templates - Support for multiple templates?
Hi there, I'm running an Exchange 2010 enviornment with a customised User Template in use. I now have a special VIP that requires an extra field in their user details template that every other user in the organization won't have. My question is it possible to publish a second User Details template that is only applied to the VIP? This VIP has 2 office extension numbers that need to be published in the Address Book, whereas every other user has only 1 office extension. Any assistance or tips greatly appreciated.

It appears that you can only edit and save the existing templates. You could just add the second field to the template and then you are ready for anyone that may have a second extension down the road, and you are not supporting a one off situation.

yea, my problem is I have 7,000 users that would have a blank second phone field, seems like it would look messy just for 1 user.

Well, you can't please all of the people all of the time. You said you modified the template already, did you remove the Phone/Notes tab from the template? That tab has all of the telephone number fields in it. If you did , what about using another tab for addtional numbers, etc...?

Yes, if you don't want to add an additional phone field in the template, you can just add VIP's Phone numbers under Phone/Notes Tab. Thanks, EvanEvan Liu TechNet Community Support
