Exchange 2010 / CAS query
We have a CAS array (Windows 2008 servers) running Exchange 2007 SP1. The servers are CAS1, CAS2, CAS3. The array is load balanced and the array name is CAS. We have two MBX servers in our DAG, MBX1 and MBX2. There are 20 DB's split betweeen the two. Hypothetically - A user is accessing their mailbox, via Outlook 2007, on their PC. My understanding is that the connection is: Outlook on Client1 > CAS > DB1 on MBX1. Is there any way to find out which CAS the connection goes through? Either via Powershell or the Exchange Management Console?

In Exchange 2007 Outlook connects to the mailbox server, not the CAS for normal mailbox work. Outlook 2007 and higher will connect to the CAS for offline address book and availability (free-busy), though.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Sorry, that was a typo on my part - should read Exchange 2010 SP1.

Hi, Outlook connects the CAS Array to get the mailbox connection, then the Array sends the request to the CAS in round-robin mechanism. You can use the Netwok Monitor to capture the communation, confirm if you can find the clue. AllenAllen Song
