Exchange 2010 - multi-site deployment
Hi, Just wondering where I can find documents for Exchange2010 multi-site deployment? Our company e.g ACompany located in NZ recently acquired another overseas company e.g. BCompany. The plan is to setup a sub-domain like US.acompany.local for this newly acquired company. There will be a private link between here and the US company. And there will be only one single forest. I found a lot of information regards Exchange 2007. As the HA changed dramatically in Exchange 2010, i would like to get some info for Exchange 2010 only. Any help will be highly appreciated. Cheers, Tom

The high availability options for Exchange 2010 are very different. However I wouldn't want to stretch those options across the Pacific. Personally I would keep it very simple, separate the AD sites and have standalone servers in both locations. As long as they can see each other, that will be fine. If you then want to do some kind of high availability solution, do so locally, a data centre in the same country, not something separated by the Pacific, putting you at mercy of the undersea cables. Have you been through the Technet Documentation for Exchange 2010? That is about all there is - although there is plenty of it. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources

That's quite a distance. You'll want to makke sure you meet rouuntrip latency time (250 ms) and bandwidth requirements if you want to stretch the DAG. You should be able to find documentation here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd638121.aspx John Fullbright
