Exchange 2010 - Set-ADPermission for giving a user account full rights at server level to mailboxes?
Hi all, I am simply trying to add a user account with full rights to ALL existing mailboxes and have new mailboxes inherit the rights too. I have run the following in our test environment: get-mailboxserver MAILBOXSERVER | add-adpermission -user USERNAME -accessrights extendedright -extendedrights send-as,receive-as Running a get-adpermission command shows the account now has send-as and receive-as rights on the server, but running the same command against a mailbox brings back nothing. Just a couple of questions: 1. Should this show up in the GUI too when opening a user and seeing who has full-access rights? I have restarted the exchange store and nothing is showing up under the users in the exchange GUI. 2. Is simply adding send-as and receive-as at a server level the correct way to give a certain user/group FULL access using the extendedrights featuer? Or is it just simpler to add the account to the organisation admins? it is for email journaling so I don't particularly want the account to have more permissions over exchange than it needs. EDIT: Also, do you need to set inheritance some how so that if you create a new mailbox database it will pick up the server level permissions?

Hi Exchange D, Any updates? "it is for email journaling" Could you please tell which feature do you want to do? Since there are many build Management Roles in Exchange 2010, maybe one of them will be met your needs.
