Exchange 2007 with Exchange 2003 Can not receive or send emails
When i turn off the exchange 2003 server all email comes to a halt. But when the exchange 2003 server is on all is working, what can i look at or delete to make it to where the exchange 2007 server is the primary server and is sending and receiving emails. Right now current setup is:All mailboxes are moved from the exch2003 to the exch2007 serverHave all send and receive connectors set up in exch 2007 Have a smart host (Barracuda) which is set up in both servers, but configured to send mail to the Exch2007 serverHave a routing connector that shows up in the exch 2003 server that when is deleted all mail halts. (exch2007 --> exch2003) Looks to be made when i installed the exchange 2007 server.Headers show in emails that it goes from our Barracuda to the Exch2007 server then is delivered by the Exch2003 ServerWhen you send mail internally it is only routed through the Exch2007 server never touches the Barracuda or Exch2003.Any help would be a great help since i am stuck!!!Thanks!!

Bryan, when you first install Exchange 2007, you specify an Exchange 2003 Bridgehead Server that is running SMTP. This creates a bi-directional connector. This will create a send connector in Exchange 2007 with an address space of * that smart hosts to the Exchange 2003 server. In order to remove this dependency, on Exchange 2007, you will want to remove the routing to * through the Exchange 2003 and modify Exchange 2007 so it sends to * via itself. That way, when Exchange 2003 is down, Exchange 2007 can still route mail directly to the internet without needing Exchange 2003. Please ensure that if Exchange 2007 is routing to a smart host, that you modify your smart host to accept connectors from your Exchange 2007 server(s).MVP | MCSE:M | MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator | MCTS: OCS + Voice Specialization | http://www.shudnow.net
