Exchange 2007 w/ Outlook 2003 - sporadic Missing Sent Item(s)
We are running Exchange 2007, with the Outlook 2003 client. Two users have reported that a message that was sent/received to a recipient outside of our organization does not show up in their Sent Items folder. I confirmed with both the message tracker as well as with the recipient that the recipient received the email in question. I initially thought that perhaps the view or a filter was just hiding the sent item, but that does not appear to be the case. Some Google searches lead me to believe that a few other folks in similiar Exchange environments might be having similiar if not identical problems with the occasional message not showing up in Sent Items. I went looking for a List of Fixes document for Exchange 2007, SP1 but thus far I have not found one. SP1 certainly provides many new features but surely it resolves some known issues as well. Or maybe not. Does anyone know if an Exchange '07 Fix List is out there somewhere? TIA

Martin, If you check the Sent Items folder in OWA, do you see the missing messages? I had the same problem with Outlook. But when I checked my Sent Items in OWA, it had all of the items that I had sent. Also, the problem magically stopped happening. I am missing most of a weeks worth of sent items, but the problem went away. Not sure yet what caused it. Rob

Thanks for the tip. I will check OWA and see if the item in question shows up in Sent Items. I did locate a Fix List for Exchange 2007, SP1. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946138

Well, I used OWA to check out the Sent Items and the items that do not show up on the full blown Outlook 2003 client also do not show up in Exchange 2007 OWA. I am now looking at Addins as a possible cause.

Quick note: Having Word as your email editior on in Outlook also causes these types of issues... FYI
