Hi All,

I'm 3/4 of the way through an exchange 2007 to 2013 Migration using this guide:

All user mailboxes have been migratedsuccessfully butunfortunately I'm now stuck 3/4 of the way through the public folder migration.

It migrates all the actual data over but seems it gets stuck in the second phaseon the below section which looks to be permissions.

Copying messages is finished. Copying rules and security descriptors.

Transient error CommunicationErrorTransientExceptionhas occurred. The system will retry (20/60)

I have come across other users with this exact same problem and Microsoft have confirmed it's a bug and that a hotfix is available but not to the public I believe. Please see this post for a detailed description on the problem.

One of the users in the post above advised it was fixed for him during a fix for another issue relating to users not being able to change their profile pictures via ECP - which is here:

The only difference here is I'm not migrating to office 365. I'm migrating from an Exchange 2007 to my own standalone Exchange 2013 server.

Can anyone help or advise on where to go from here? as I'm stuck in a half migrated state until I fix this.

also there is no TMG in this environment so it's not the flood protection blocking it.

So at the moment the migration is running since around 10 days. Transient error CommunicationErrorTransientExceptionhas occurred. The system will retry (20/60) counts up to 60/60 and then I have to resume and it starts again.

Noone got any solution?

Is that correct? I have to wait for CU3? In Exchange 2013? Or 2007? And then? Delete all public folders and redo the stuff?

I guess so.. there is a hotfix just not released to the public.

They have fixed it for Office 365. Can anyone please tell us if a hotfix will be released to the public or if we have to wait for CU3.

If there is a hotfix: How to get it?

Is there no microsoft employe here? Can't believe that we two are the only one with that problem!

When will CU3 be released?

I've tried contacting MS via a few forums but no one is responding.

There are a few more people who have the same problem but they are on Office 365.
