Exchange 2007 to 2010
Can the Exchange Server included in SBS2008 be upgraded to the 2010 beta? I have just installed a v SBS machine on Server 2008 r2 Ent. & was wondering if this is possible before I start the config. process? If so, what is the best way to go about the process?-Thanks

You can not upgrade Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. You will need to perform a transition to Exchange 2010 on new hardware. SF - MCITP:EMA, MCTS: Exchange 2010, Exchange 2007, MOSS 2007, OCS 2007 -- http://www.scottfeltmann.com

So, whats the best bet for running exchange & share point? I was mainly setting up SBS 08 for those functions. I have not gone any further than installing the virtual server on 2008r2. Should I just install Exchange & Sharepoint in their own V-instance? This is on a test machine w 2x Xeons & 10G ram. Would this work?

It is typcially best practice to install those applications on seperate Servers. If you are using a Virtual environment I would definatly go that route with seperate servers. SF - MCITP:EMA, MCTS: Exchange 2010, Exchange 2007, MOSS 2007, OCS 2007 -- http://www.scottfeltmann.com

There is no inplace upgrade option for exchange 2010 (the databases from any previous version are too different for this). What you might do is build something side by side, and the do a move mailbox operation. But maybe you better wait till SBS gets to its next version, and then do this operation.
