Exchange 2007 storage on NAS not supported?
HiAccording to one of the Microsoft training kit books I am reading (Designing Exchange 2007), Microsoft will not support Exchange 2007 when the back end storage is NAS.The following Technet article also mentions this;http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/exchangesvravailabilityandisasterrecovery/thread/55ca21ed-4a63-4b25-bd52-acb31fa6a9a3/Could someone confirm if this is still the case, since I cannot find a statement by MS on this? Thanks

Hello yoshi:Unlike previous versions of ExchangeServer, network-attached storage is not supported in Exchange2007. The only network-based storage transport supported for Exchange2007 is iSCSI. detail content, please read the link which is from techent library;http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738146.aspx-jack

NAS is presented like a file share, performance would be quite low. Exchange is like a database and requires good I/O. There are other storage technologies moreappropriate thanNAS.Andrew Sword, MVP
