Exchange 2007 send-receive
I am new to Exchange 2007, though I have worked with 2003. I am having difficulty with a new install of 2007 on a system newly promoted to DC. I have an external ISP with an MX record to forward the emails toa 64 bitExchange 2007 server with Server 2003. After setting up Exchange 2007 I setup a test account with a mail box, and outlook to connect to it. I have tried sending and receiving from that test account and neither work. It will complete the Microsoft Exchange - Sending task, but the email is not sent. It will error out with the error: Task 'Microsoft Exchange' reported error (0x8004010F): 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found.' I don't know what object it is, or if I missed something in the Exchange installation/configuration. I appreciate any assistance.

I have also been receiving this error on all of my client machines. Rebuilding the OAB (GAL) and manually re-downloading on the clients hasn't resolved this problem. I am still working on a solution.

Hi, Did you create a send connector? You did not promote the server to domain controller after you installed exchange 2007, right (that is not supported)? Leif

Thanks for the reply Leif. I'm not sure who you were directing that question at but I will provide a little more information about this error. This is the information provided in the Outlook Synchronisation Logs (in Outlook 2003). 15:51:53 Synchronizer Version 11.0.8200 15:51:53 Synchronizing Mailbox 'Firstname Lastname' 15:51:53 Done 15:51:54 Microsoft Exchange offline address book 15:51:54 0X8004010FOn the server I am running Exchange 2007 on, there is a send connector to send to all domains and the server is not a domain controller.

Tried that, but when I got to the Update command it asked for an Identity. It wouldn't take the admin account as a user.

Did you ever get a resolution to the problem? We are having a setup problem with outlook 2003 and getting the same error message: Task 'pop.west.cox.net - Sending' reported error (0x8004010F) : 'The operation failed. An object could not be found.' Any help would be appreciated Thanks

What you are looking at it is problem of OAB. Try rebuilding the OAB from server and client side. Also check the OAB folders in CAS and MBX servers and see if you have some folders with some wiered names and contents inside that. If not then probabaly the OAB is not getting generated. And if yes, then go ahead with the rebuild of the OAB.Raj
